Crochet, Crotch-it?

Where in the heck-n-heck have you been, Jules Mae? That's a good question. I'm still here. I'm still creating. I'm still trying to move my family to another province.  Lately I've been devoting a lot of energy to my other passion: design and illustration.

And guess what?  I'm teaching myself how to crochet.  My kids call it crotch-it, and I'm inclined to like the sounds of that better.  Silly is good.   I found this how-to guide at the thrift store and I decided it was time.
I'm learning to knit, too, but I think crocheting is more fun.

This is my third hat. It's got a bit of a vintage flair, like a cloche.

Moo moos are still coming!  Seriously. You will be so excited when they do, I know. Thanks for waiting with baited breath.

  1. Love it!
Learning to 'crotch-it' and knit is on my list of things to do.
Good to see you back in blog land!

    1. Thanks Stephanie! I'm aiming to post here more often. Sometimes it's hard to keep up with the blogs AND all of the creating (oh and parenting can throw a hitch in everything :)).

  2. YAY! So nice to see you again.... i say 'crotch-it' too hehehe.... have been tossing the idea around of learning it one day myself :) Love the hat!!

You know I totally relate to fluctuating creative focuses - it's not easy being so darn talented eh? ;) Glad to see you again, looking forward to seeing your recent creations :)

    1. Hey! Thanks for commenting :) So many creative directions, so little time. I know you can relate. Crotch-it-ing is pretty great if you like to both zone out in front of a show AND create something simultaneously.
